Doctor Murray earned his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College (2001) and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Scranton (2007). He has practiced in multiple settings in both California and Pennsylvania.
His post graduate work includes a Fellowship with the Gray Institute where he studied Applied Functional Science. He is one of just several hundred elite physical therapists worldwide to have earned those credentials. This movement-based approach to rehabilitation looks at the whole body to get to the root of the problem, not just treat the symptoms.
Joe is a life-long resident of Honesdale with family roots in the area going back generations. He enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife and three children and is involved in coaching youth sports and supporting the community.
Marcie is a graduate of Misericordia University, where she earned both her Bachelors Degree in Psychology (2010) and her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (2013). Her previous employment was with Allied Services, in their outpatient clinic in Mount Pocono, PA.
Originally from Hazleton, she is very excited to now be a part of the Murray PT team, and for the opportunity to get to know and help members of the Honesdale community.
Marcie specializes in The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT) as a means of evaluating and treating those with spinal and extremity problems. She additionally has an interest in pediatric physical therapy and works part-time for Support Services for Infants and Toddlers inc., assisting the needs of little ones (birth to three) with developmental delays and disabilities.
Aside from spending time with her husband and son, she enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle, participating in running and biking.
Amy graduated from the University of Scranton in 1994 with her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. She grew up in Wyalusing, PA but currently resides in the Cherry Ridge area with her husband and children.
Amy has worked at several clinics in the Honesdale and Hawley area in her 24-year career as a physical therapist. Amy was encouraged to become a therapist by her high school chemistry teacher whose son had a disability that required extensive physical therapy.
In her free time Amy enjoys working on her family’s hobby farm raising chickens, sheep, pigs and beef cows.
Lew graduated from Keystone College in 2002 with an Associates of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant. He grew up in Luzerne, PA, but currently resides in the Honesdale area with his wife and son.
During his almost 17 years as a Physical Therapist Assistant, he has worked in variety of setting. Lew as was quick to join the Murray PT team just a month after its opening in 2016.
When he is not busy working, he enjoys time with his family, traveling, hiking, camping, participating in sports, and coaching his son’s sporting activities. Lew also enjoys more extreme sports such as skydiving, parasailing, and competing in mud runs. He was inspired to become a PTA due to his love of exercise and the fact that he could help people through exercise.
Mychaela received her Physical Therapist Assistant license in 2016 after graduating from Lackawanna College. Prior to coming to work at Murray Physical Therapy, Mychaela worked at The Meadows Skilled Nursing Facility in Scranton. She enjoys being able to help people recover from their injuries and resume their active lifestyles.
Mychaela grew up in the Honesdale area and currently resides north of Honesdale with her husband and their dog, Kimber. In her free time, she enjoys coaching field hockey and snowmobiling.
Ben graduated from the University of Scranton in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Philosophy, with a concentration in nutrition. He plans to attend graduate school and earn a Ph.D in philosophy.
Ben grew up in the Tyler Hill area with his older sister and younger brother. He enjoyed wrestling during his high school years as well as tutoring his fellow peers. Ben continues to enjoy sports and outdoor activities in his spare time.
Prior to working at Murray Physical Therapy, Ben worked at Dakan Enterprises and Meagher Law.
Brenna graduated from Honesdale High School and is currently attending the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Lackawanna College with a planned graduation date of Spring 2020.
She grew up in the Beach Lake area with her parents and four siblings. She has worked at Murray Physical Therapy as a technician and front desk staff for almost a year.
Brenna is driven by her desire to help people during a difficult time in their lives. She is looking forward to getting her PTA license and hopes to be able to work in the pediatric field in the future.When Brenna isn't busy with work or school, she enjoys being active outdoors with activities such as soccer. She also enjoys drawing and painting.
Dena grew up in the Honesdale area and graduated from Honesdale High School in 1988. She currently resides in the Bethany area with her husband and two children.
Prior to coming to work at Murray Physical Therapy, Dena home-schooled her children and worked as a tech at Motion Physical Therapy. She has also been the bookkeeper for her husband’s business for the last 30 years.
In her free time, Dena enjoys gardening, reading, puzzles, finding waterfalls and weekend getaways. She also loves the color purple and has been known to have purple streaks in her hair.
Tracy grew up in the Honesdale area and graduated from Honesdale High School in 1992. She has also taken various business courses at Lackawanna Community College.
Tracy not only works at the front desk at Murray Physical Therapy but also works with the Preschool program at the Vineyard Center. She resides in the area with her husband and has two children with whom she would like to travel with more in the future.
Tracy enjoys snowmobiling, walking outdoors, cooking, and shopping in her free time. Tracy’s caring personality and ability to listen make her a nice addition to the Murray Physical Therapy family.
